American heldentenor Alec Carlson has been garnering attention and acclaim on the concert and operatic stages for his “powerful voice”. Past performances include Dr. Marianus in Mahler’s 8th Symphony with The Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, tenor soloist in Verdi’s Requiem with the San Jose Symphonic Chorus and San Luis Obispo Master Chorale, his role and house debut with Teatro Municipal de Santiago as Erik in Der Fliegende Holländer, his European and role debut as Max (Der Freischütz) with Opera Wrocławska. Future seasons include a return to Teatro Municipal de Santiago and his house debut at the Metropolitan Opera.

Alec’s promising career has been recognized by several opera foundations as a top grantee including the George London Foundation, Giulio Gari Foundation, The Sullivan Foundation and the Richard Tucker Fund Award from Santa Fe Opera, among others. Alec is a proud alumni of the inaugural Emerging Artist roster of Opera for Peace.
