Application FAQs

Since AuditionAir is a relatively new concept, we get plenty of questions. Here are some frequently asked questions to help explain the program.

The program year is intended to align with audition season and runs from August 1st 2026 through July 31st 2027. AuditionAir grants for this coming program year may be used during that time frame.

Grants for the coming program year will be $2,500 per AuditionAire

Grants may be used solely for air travel within the continental United States for qualifying auditions. AuditionAir provides plane tickets; we do not distribute funds directly. Plane tickets are for the seat only; luggage, travel insurance, additional arrangements related to the audition are not part of the grant.
We anticipate between 20–30 AuditionAires (grant recipients) will be enrolled into the program.
  • Applications open May 15th 2026 and close June 30th 2026.
  • Finalists will be selected in July, 2026 and may be contacted for additional information (performance recording / video, references, interview).
  • AuditionAir grant recipients will be selected by August 1st 2026. All selections are final.
Applications are evaluated and AuditionAires selected by the AuditionAir Grant Review Panel. Panelists are leading performers and teachers / coaches in classical voice and include internationally renowned soprano Christine Goerke and Distinguished Professor of Voice and Vocal Pedagogy, John Paul White.
